Newcastle United has offered midfielder Matty Longstaffa new contract hoping he will stay at the club.The young player’s contract will beexpiring on the end of this season and the club is ready to offer a new deal for him. Many clubs across Europe haveshown interest on the young player and the Italian club Udinese has even offered him a deal. But Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce is confident the midfielder will stay at Newcastle as the club had offered the deal with better renewal options.

Newcastle manager was talking at the press conference before the match against Sheffield United on Sunday. He said that there have been many speculations regarding the transfer of Longstaff as the talks between the player and the club is progressing. The club genuinely hopes that the player will be staying at the club.

As per the reports of Saudi Media City,it seems like the takeover of Newcastle United has been completed. The club for the past few months have been linked with £300 million takeover but the Premier League committee has delayed this due to issues regarding the association with the upcoming owners. But the resources from Saudi has claimed that the deal has been done and Newcastle has been purchased.

The report says that with the deal done they will be looking forward to bring forth many La Liga players and has also interest in signing the Argentinian ace, Lionel Messi.

Newcastle United legend Lee Clarke has said that it would be disastrous, if the Magpies are unable to keep hold of Matty Longstaff. The 20-year-old made his breakthrough with the senior squad earlier this season and he made the headlines on his Premier League debut with the winning goal against Manchester United.

He has since been sparingly used in the top-flight due to the competition for places and there are now doubts whether he would stay put with the club beyond the summer. The midfielder’s current deal expires at the end of June and so far, there has been no agreement in place to prolong his stay with the club.

This news has been great for many fans as the club will be able to sign many valuable players. But Barnes doesn’t want the fans to get over-excited and suggest that Newcastle should not be signing players who are on the same page of big clubs of England.

Barnes says that Messi or Ronaldo will not be joining the team and they will be mostly preferring other teams. The club should focus on players who are worth putting a good game forward. The club will not be following any different agenda they are going to attract players by promising more money. There isn’t any confirmation that players like Messi and Ronaldo will be joining Newcastle and to know about the transfer ideas of the club one should be waiting till the transfer window opens.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has sent a warning to Newcastle United’s new owners. PCP Capital Partners are currently on the verge of taking charge of the Tyneside outfit from Mike Ashley and Carragher believes the new owners should reinforce the squad smartly rather than splashing the cash on elite players.

He told Sky Sports: “The big problem you’ll have is what every other club has had when they think they can challenge for the top four. I look at teams like Everton and West Ham who threw big money at it thinking they could really challenge that top six or top four, and it’s very, very difficult. I think it is difficult to get Newcastle back to where they were in terms of challenging for a league, I don’t see that. But in terms of maybe challenging for European places, trying to get into the top six, as I said teams like Everton and West Ham are, but it’s not easy.”

Montreal Impact manager Thierry Henry is looking forward to the performances of Victor Wanyama, who made the switch from Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month. The Kenya international had been linked with a potential exit from Spurs over the past couple of seasons and he has eventually sealed his departure with a move to Major League Soccer.

The former Celtic man has penned a three-year deal with Montreal after the free transfer move from Spurs and Henry is looking forward to the midfielder’s displays on the playing field, he told: “The most important thing is what you have in front, not behind. It’s the name for TV, to recognise the player. He knows his name, so he didn’t have to turn around. We don’t yet know how he will manage; we’ll see when he’s in the field. Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has challenged Danny Rose to impress during his loan stint with the Magpies such that he can make the push for the England squad for Euro 2020. The left-sided defender was deemed surplus to requirements at Tottenham Hotspur and that contributed towards his decision to join the Magpies on a temporary deal for the season in January.

Rose has made just one substitute appearance in the 0-0 draw against Norwich City before the winter break but Bruce is hopeful that the experienced defender can prove a success with the Magpies and make a strong impression on the national team manager, he told: “What helped enormously was Danny being a northern lad, and he wants to play. It became very easy. The player was surplus to requirements at Tottenham.
