PARDEW SAYS SORRY

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has apologised to the Hull City player David Meyler for his involvement in a clash that saw the manager sent to the stands for bad behaviour. Newcastle were the recent visitors to the KC stadium in the Premier league match.

They managed a 4-1 win over the relegation threatened opposition to finally take some pressure off the club. Newcastle had managed three successive defeats before finally breaking the run with a 1-0 win over Aston Villa last weekend. They had to build on this win in order to sustain their position in the top half of the table.

In a heated battle between the two clubs, Pardew lost his cool and he was involved in a touchline clash with Meyler, who arrived there to pick up the ball that had just gone out of play. After head-butting Meyler, Pardew received his marching orders and was sent to the stands. After the match, the manager, who has previously been involved in touchline clashes with managers and players alike, said that his actions were not good and that he was extremely regretful of the incident. The club have already fined him £ 100,000, while he is set to face more action from the FA as well.

A lot of reaction has come towards this incident from pundits, managers, and fans alike.

“It was just a heat of the moment thing. Obviously I massively regret it. I think I am going to have to sit down from now on because that’s about two or three incidents I have been involved in on the line. I didn’t mean to do anything aggressive, but I did move my head forward and that’s enough. It was just because of the situation, if I was on the other side of the line, that wouldn’t have happened, perhaps it will teach me to sit down,” said Pardew.
