NEWCASTLE TARGET FIRST LEAGUE WIN

Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce is a man under pressure ahead of the crucial Premier League encounter with newly promoted team Watford after leading the club to a winless start in the league this season. Bruce and Newcastle United players have not managed at least awin in their first five Premier League matches this season till date. The Magpies are one of several teams yet to win a game in the league this term as far as the English top flight is concerned. Apart from Newcastle United, Burnley and Leeds United are the other two teams yet to record three points in the Premier League this season after five rounds of games.

Steve Bruce and his players are under serious pressure to pick up their first three points ahead of the trip to Vicarage Road to take on home team Watford. On their part, the Hornets have six points on the board due to their record of two wins from five games.

Newcastle United began the new league season with a disappointing home defeat to London team West Ham United having led at the halfway stage of the game. The Hammers scored three second half goals to win the game. Newcastle were beaten 4-2 by the Europa League team. The defeat to West Ham United was followed by another defeat, a 2-0 defeat to home team Aston Villa.

The Magpies could have won their first league this season in front of their home fans only for them to be denied by a late James Ward-Prowse penalty as Southampton forced them to a 2-2 draw.Manchester United were the next league opponents for Newcastle United and they suffered a 4-1 loss at the end of the game at the home of the former European champions with Cristiano Ronaldo netting two times either side of the break. In their last game in the Premier League, the Magpies played out a 1-1 draw at home to Leeds United.
