KRAFTH HELPS SWEDEN TO GOOD POINT

Newcastle United defender Emil Krafthcame on for the final 15 minutes of the game to help Sweden get their Euro 2020 campaign to a decent start with an impressive goalless draw with hosts Spain in Group E. The Newcastle United right-back was subbed on in the place of the impressive Mikael Lustig on 75 minutes and he went on to contribute his own part to the clean sheet earned by his team.

Krafth was not always in the starting XI at Newcastle United last season but he did more than enough to make the 26-man Sweden squad for the ongoing Euro 2020 tournament though Lustigwas preferred to him for the Swedes’ opening game of the tournament against home team Spain in Seville. The Newcastle United defender came into the game at a time that the pressure was on the high side but his team was able to see it through to earn a point but it could have been more if striker Marcus Berg had his scoring boots in the second half when he missed a sitter when it was easier to score after good work from the impressive Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak who was a thorn in the flesh of the Spanish defenders throughout the game.
