Newcastle United have been one of the active clubs in the transfer window so far with a couple of permanent signings to finally pacify the angry supporters. Newcastle went without making a permanent signing for more than 18 months. They had entirely dependent upon the loan market in order to refresh the squad, but after sales of players like Yohan Cabaye for more than £ 20 million, they are stepping back into the market once again. The club recently brought in Remy Cabella and managed Alan Pardew has revealed that he has high hopes for the player.
Remy Cabella is expected to be a straight replacement for Cabaye in the centre of the Newcastle midfield, which could also lose a star name in the form of Ben Arfa. Cabella has been brought to the club before £ 12 million and he is the third record signing. As with several other players signed by Newcastle in the last few years, he is a Frenchman. He was part of the French national team score at the World Cup 2014, although he never got on to make his mark at the competition. Prior to the World Cup, he was a regular for the national team. He will be hoping that the presence of the Premier League will persuade manager Didier Deschamps to start with him more regularly.
“I remember Ginola and Robert and I’m looking forward to making my name and becoming one of those greats. I’m looking to improve all the time and hopefully become one of the best. My first match at Newcastle is something I am already looking forward to. I’d like to pay tribute to my staff and in particular Graham, myself, Lee, Mike Ashley and everyone on the board, who worked really hard for this one,” said Alan Pardew.
