Newcastle United have found their next star in the form of the midfielder Moussa Sissoko according to the manager Alan Pardew. Newcastle brought in no less than five French players during the January transfer window – a decision that has been criticised by many including the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
However, they have finally started paying dividends after the club has won two matches on the bounce due to the presence of new players like Moussa Sissoko. The midfielder made his home debut for his new team in the match against Chelsea during the weekend. He straightaway enrolled himself into the Newcastle legend by scoring two goals and helping the team to a 3-2 victory.
Pardew has stated that the club has been tracking the player for more than a year now, and they are extremely delighted to get their man. Sissoko has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past. Sissoko impressed with his power, quality, and pace. Even though he has played only two matches for the club, he is already showing that he is a great player according to Pardew. This is because he came up against great players like Lampard, Juan Mata, and Oscar during the weekend, but he was able to outshine them.
“I don’t want to say too much about him, because his performance speaks for itself and it doesn’t need me to give a sound-bite because he’s going to get enough headlines, but he’s just been like a giant, that’s all I can say, in training and in everything, the way he’s carried himself. He’s a real force of football. It’s only two games in and hopefully we’re saying the same thing in the summer, because those Chelsea players we came up against are top, top players – Oscar, Lampard, Mata,” said the Newcastle manager.
