Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, EdinDzeko and David Silva were all of the players of Manchester City which managed to score goals during the Premier League match between Manchester City and Newcastle United which was played on February 21 at the Etihad Stadium and concluded with a resounding 5-0 defeat for John Carver and his team.
The interim coach of Newcastle United, John Carver apologized to the fans and supporters of the club after having suffered with what was the biggest defeat of Newcastle United in this season.
Following the conclusion of the match, John Carver said: An apology to the fans, first of all. No matter what you plan during the week, when you concede a penalty in the first minute then you are on a hiding to nothing. To concede a penalty in the manner we did is really annoying and frustrating. I have seen better sides than us to come here and get a hiding. My job now is a question of do I sulk and start talking behind players’ backs? I hope not.’’
Manchester City dominated the match as they didn’t concede a single goal and managed as well to score 5 goals as they launched a total of 9 shots on target meanwhile Newcastle United could only muster to deliver 1 shot on target as they struggled on causing any real danger to their opponents.
Carver has also admitted in saying that injuries have seriously affected his squad. Paul Dummett picked up a recent knee injury which will be leaving him out of action for over 2 months meanwhile Steven Taylor is not expected to return into the playing grounds for the remainder of the season.
CheikTiote and Siem de Jong are some of the other players which have been fighting with injuries and the fact that DavideSanton and RemieStreete were both loaned out to different clubs, this does not benefit Newcastle United’s current defensive situation which is one of the departments of the club that has been most affected lately.
